SMITHSBURG - Irene S. Wolfe, 94, of Greensburg Road, Smithsburg, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, at the home of her daughter.

Born Aug. 19, 1914, in Wolfesville, Md., she was the daughter of the late John R. and Christie E. Murphy Maugans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Wolfe Sr., July 7, 1994.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Welty Church of the Brethren Greensburg and Leitersburg Senior Citizens.

She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy V. Burgess and June E. Kendall, both of Smithsburg; three sons, Richard A. Wolfe Jr. of Smithsburg, Ray V. Wolfe of Argyle, Texas and Dennis L. Wolfe of Rouzerville, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg with Pastor Randy Reid and Pastor Mike Manthos officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Smithsburg.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
