A. Dix Horine, 80, of 17825 Bluebell Drive, Hagerstown, Md., went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown.

Born Tuesday, June 5, 1928, in Brunswick, Md., he was the son of the late Arlington Lee Willard Horine and Margaret E. Duvall Horine.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He graduated from Bliss Electrical School in Takoma Park, Md., where he received his degree in Industrial Electrical Engineering. He was employed with Fairchild Aircraft Inc., retiring in 1993 after 45 years of service. He was a member of Tri-State Fellowship.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Geraldine Horine; two daughters, Linda Greasley of Elkridge, Md. and Maureen Witmer of Greencastle, Pa.; three sons, Steve Horine of Greencastle, Dan Horine of Rohrersville, Md. and Pete Grunberg of Hagerstown; one sister, Virginia Lee Harris of Quincy, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at 7 p.m. at Tri-State Fellowship, 13153 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, with Pastor Randy Buchman officiating.

Family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tri -State Fellowship, c/o the Brent and Anna Anderson Missionary Fund, 13153 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown.
