Preps Roundup -- Jones' late 3 gives No. 5 Jefferson win

HANDLEY, Va. -- Marquise Jones hit a 3-pointer with 2.9 seconds left to cap the No. 5 Cougars' rally from nine points down in the fourth quarter for an 80-79 victory over Handley on Saturday.

Jefferson (7-3) has handed Handley (14-2) its only two losses this season.

Dewey McDonald led the way with 25 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Cougars. Nick Zbikowski had 12 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, Casey Johnson had 15 points, Garrett Grantham had 14 and Jones finished with 10.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Isaac Thornton had 27 points and five rebounds, and the Bulldogs went on the road and thumped Morgantown (8-3).

Tevin Walker had 17 points and nine rebounds, and Michael Cole added 13 rebounds for Martinsburg (11-2).

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. -- Hedgesville rolled to a 31-4 lead after the first eight minutes and the entire Eagles roster broke into the scoring colum.

Jordan Reed had 12 points for the Eagles (8-3). Andrew Snyder and Q.J. Peterson came off the bench and scored 11 points each. Starters Jordan Reed and Duane Fleetwood each had 10 points.

Mike Nyata led Highland View Academy (5-4) with 15 points.

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Jamison Walck scored 12 of his game-high 21 points -- including all three of his 3-pointers -- in Waynesboro's 23-7 third-quarter run as the Indians pulled away from Central Dauphin (4-14).

Walck also had eight rebounds and three assists while Tim Null added 20 points and seven boards for Waynesboro (10-6).

The Indians were aided by a 24-for-39 effort from the foul line, while Central Dauphin went just 5-for-8.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Austin Sanders led Cumberland Valley Christian with 21 points and four steals, and hit all five Blazers 3-pointers in their MDCC win over Shalom Christian.

Nick Bunting had 20 points and four steals, and Tyler Larson added 10 points, nine rebounds and eight assists for CVCS (14-3, 6-1), which shot 50 percent from the floor (26-for-52). J.C. Watson had 10 rebounds.

Matt Horner had nine points, eight rebounds and two blocks for Shalom (1-15, 1-8).
