Shepherd 80, Bluefield State 64

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -- Jonathan Motichka scored a team-high 22 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead Shepherd to a WVIAC victory.

Liki Turner added 15 points and seven rebounds, Justin Jarman scored 14 points and Derek Gallagher had 11 points for the Rams (8-8, 7-2).

Raylon Almon led Bluefield State (1-12, 1-6) with 26 points.

Shepherd 96, Bluefield St. 37

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. -- Shepherd University won its third straight game and second in a row in convincing style as the Rams exploded past Bluefield St. for a West Virginia Conference win.

Katie Warehime led the Rams (7-9, 4-5) with 22 points, hitting 11 of 17 from the floor. She also had eight rebounds.

Colleen Shumaker had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds and Krissy Grosselin added 10 points.

Jefferson baseball boosters

The Jefferson High School Baseball Boosters will hold their next meeting on Feb. 2nd at 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The meeting is open to anyone interested in Jefferson baseball.

Baseball conditioning is being held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. at the Ranson Civic Center. The cost is $20 per player. Baseball tryouts are scheduled for the first week of March.
