HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Marshall Timothy "Tim" Comer, 57, of Harpers Ferry, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at his home.

Born July 7, 1951, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of Mary C. Sheldon of Bisbee, Ariz., and the late Robert Trenton Comer.

He retired as a boilermaker after 35 years of service with the Boiler Makers Local 193 in Baltimore.

He was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Charles Town, W.Va.

He was a member of Malta Lodge 80 AF&AM of Charles Town.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Martha A. Comer; stepfather, Albert G. Sheldon of Bisbee; two daughters, Heather A. Comer of Baltimore and Amanda M. Comer of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Diana Smith of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Donna Mattson of Golden, Colo.; and four grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Charles Town. The Rev. Constantine L. Havir will officiate. Remembrances will be given by the Rev. Richard Neal. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town.


The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home in Harpers Ferry.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Thomas Lutheran Church, 111 S. Seminary St., Charles Town, WV 25414 or to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.
