GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Thelma G. Burcker Bingaman, 76, of 77 Eastern Ave., died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at Waynesboro (Pa.) Hospital.

Born Oct. 23, 1932, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Fannie Hull Burcker of Manorcare Health Services in Chambersburg, Pa., and the late Andrew Jackson Burcker.

She was a 1950 graduate of Washington Township (Pa.) High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Bingaman, in 2005. They were married Oct. 6, 1950.

She had been a seamstress at Connie's Sportswear in Waynesboro.

She attended services at Hollowell Brethren in Christ Church in Waynesboro.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Barbara J. Miller and Debra K. Carbaugh, both of Chambersburg, and Tracy L. Motter of Marion, Pa.; four sons, Dennis E. Bingaman and Kenneth L. Bingaman, both of Chambersburg, Gary E. Bingaman of Waynesboro and Richard L. Bingaman of Shady Grove, Pa.; four sisters, Rhoda Barnhart, Marie Glee and Betty Freshman, all of Waynesboro, and Rosalie Addlesberger of Greencastle;18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.


She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Burcker; and one great-grandson.

Services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home in Greencastle. The Rev. Christy R. Stouffer will officiate. Burial will follow in Macedonia Church Cemetery in Greencastle.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
