MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Officials at Whitetail Resort promise that the snow is gnarly, like, for sure.
Whitetail Resort is hosting the Totally Radical '80s Jam on Saturday, Jan. 24, sponsored by Frederick, Md.-based Pitcrew.
Participants can register from 7:30 to 9:45 a.m. at Marketplace; or from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on site at Jib Junction, Whitetail's advanced park. Competition kicks off at 11 a.m. Entry fee is $10 per person.
Matt See, Whitetail marketing coordinator, said jams are a regular event at the resort and are held every weekend throughout the season. Jams, See explained, give snowboarders and skiers of all levels a chance to ride rails, show some tricks and enjoy the snow. He said the event is similar to what's seen in the X-Games.
Although jams include jumps, there are no inverted moves allowed, See said. All competitors must wear a helmet and have a valid lift ticket.
