HANCOCK -- Penny Charlene Schetrompf, 38, of Terrace Street, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

Born Aug. 22, 1970, in Berkeley Springs, she was the daughter of Homer E. Schetrompf Jr. and Donna M. Moats Schetrompf of Hancock.

She was a 1988 graduate of Hancock High School.

She was employed by Little Sandy's Truck Stop in Hancock.

She was a member of Webster B. Harrison American Legion Post 26 Auxiliary of Hancock.

She was a member of St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in Hancock.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two daughters, Santana B. Schetrompf and Brooklyn C. McCusker, both at home; two brothers, Homer E. Schetrompf III of Berkeley Springs and Mark A. Schetrompf of Waynesboro, Pa.; grandfather, Ira Moats Jr. of Warfordsburg, Pa.; and nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.


Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, Hancock. The Rev. F. Allan Weatherholt Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Damascus Cemetery, Big Cove Tannery, Pa.

The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, Hancock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to help defray funeral expenses to Mr. and Mrs. Homer Schetrompf, 212 Terrace St., Hancock, MD 21750.
