Little League Baseball Basics

Local umpires Denny Hockensmith and Dave Grams will hold a Little League baseball rules clinic starting Tuesday, Feb, 3, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Church of Christ on Leitersburg Pike. The workshops will be held each Tuesday in February.

Hockensmith and Grams will be teaching the rules of Little League baseball. They will be covering the basics as well as the changes to the rule book, including new pitch count rules. Before you purchase a new bat for your child, for instance, you need to know the Bat Performance Factor (BPF), which must be stamped on all bats.

This seminar is free. Every league is in need of umpires and all managers are urged to attend. For more information, call Denny at 301-416-2841 or Dave at 301-791-1687.
