CLEAR SPRING -- Donald Edward Wyant, 70, of Spickler Road, and formerly of Sharpsburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at his home.

Born Nov. 1, 1938, in Hinton, W.Va., he was the son of the late Ray Allen and Mary Jane Simms Wyant.

He was a 1957 graduate of Hinton High School.

He was employed as a tool salesman for Mac Tools, retiring in 2004.

He was a Methodist.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shirley Marie Wyant; four stepdaughters, Brenda Milligan of Hagerstown, Wendy Lowe of Gaithersburg, Md., Robin Franklin of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Vicky Schildtknecht of Altoona, Pa.; two stepsons, David Lowe of Vancouver, Wash., and Ronald Lowe of Gaithersburg; 13 stepgrandchildren; 27 stepgreat-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by one stepson, Charles Lowe; one sister, Melva Fee; one brother, Charles Wyant; and one stepgrandson, Alex Lowe.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport. The Rev. Ernest Witmer will officiate.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family requests the omission of flowers.
