CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Dorsey J. Wenger, 79, formerly of 8790 Nyesville Road, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Shippensburg (Pa.) Health Care Center, where she resided since September.

Born May 1, 1929, in Ringgold, she was the daughter of the late Ray D. and Rhoda G. Hess Diehl.

Her husband, John O. Wenger, died March 14, 1997. They were married June 23, 1949.

She was a graduate of Smithsburg High School.

She was a homemaker most of her life.

She was a member of Orrstown United Brethren Church.

She is survived by three children, Kay Goodhart of Shippensburg, and Karen Heck and John Wenger, both of Chambersburg; one sister, Theda Hartman of Smithsburg; one brother, Robert Diehl of Ringgold; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances D. Williams and Arlene D. Poe; and one brother, Ray Diehl.

Services are Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Orrstown United Brethren Church. The Revs. Milton Herrold Jr. and Marlin Fleck will officiate. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, and Thursday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.
