RANSON, W.Va. - Kenneth G. "Kenny" Costello, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born May 3, 1941, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late George W. and Edith Gertrude Tomlin Costello.

He retired from Dixie-Narco as a supervisor after 16 years of service.

He was a Protestant.

He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948, Charles Town, where he received his fellowship degree, a member of Jackson-Perks American Legion Post 71, Charles Town, and Citizens Fire Co.

He is survived by two daughters, Charlotte McDaniel of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Cindy Getty of Richlands, N.C.; one son, Kenneth G. Costello Jr. of Philadelphia; his former wife, Joyce Costello; one sister, Gertrude V. Trussell of Ranson; one brother, George E. Costello of Summit Point, W.Va.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins.


He was preceded in death by one son, Curtis Costello; one sister, Eleanor M. Wiley; and one brother, Charles W. Costello.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. Henry Christie will officiate. Burial will be in Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
