He was a member of McCartney American Legion Post 232 of Dry Run, Pa., Durff-Kuhn VFW Post 6168 of Shippensburg, Pa., American Motorcycle Association, Orrstown F&AM Lodge 262 and the Harrisburg (Pa.) Consistory, among other organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Janet A. Seibert McAllen, whom he married Jan. 24, 1959; two sons, Donald M. McAllen and Daniel M. McAllen, both of Fannettsburg; one sister, Nancy Umbrell of Fannettsburg; one brother, Harry McAllen of Chambersburg; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Jane Hockenberry, Betty Adams and Geraldine Bowers; and one brother, John McAllen.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Agett-Geisel Funeral Home, Dry Run. Pastor Donna Ryan will officiate. Burial will follow in Lower Path Valley Cemetery, with military honors by the McCartney American Legion Post 232 Color Guard.
The family will receive friends Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
