CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Rotary Club of Chambersburg Foundation on Jan. 8 donated $2,000 to the Totem Pole Playhouse to assist in promotion and presentation of Totem Pole's annual Theatre Fun Fest, a free community event.
The presentation was made by Brad Evans, director of the foundation board to Elise Overcash, president of the board of directors of Totem Pole Playhouse, a nonprofit organization that serves as producer of the summer theatre.
Overcash spoke of the importance of Fun Fest to the community at large in that it is geared toward introducing young people as well as adults to the professional summer theatre at Caledonia State Park. The event is scheduled for May 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes back stage tours, previews of upcoming summer productions, face painting, children's crafts and theatre, magic shows by the Chambersburg Magic Club and stage combat demonstrations by Paris Peet, professor of theatre at Shippensburg University. In addition, there will be costume and set displays.
