Blanche "Dusty" Rhea Emond Lawrence, 88, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at her daughter's home.

Born Wednesday, March 31, 1920, in Westport, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Eleazer Emond and the late Maryann Boulanger Emond. Her husband, Donald Hilleary Lawrence, preceded her in death in 1982.

She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. She was also a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Inwood, W.Va., where she was one of the first members of St. Leo Ladies Sodality. She retired in 1985 after 10 years of employment with Fort Belvoir Officers Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen J. Lawrence Atkins of Woodbridge, Va., and Sharon A. Lawrence Curtis and husband Frank of Hagerstown; four sisters, Beatrice Rousseau of North Westport, Mass., Lillian and Alfred Valcourt of Somerset, Mass., Lucille Hamlen of Whitestable Kent, England, and Jeanne and Ray Mederios of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren, Catherine Lorraine Curtis Hilleary and husband Shane of Waynesboro, Pa., Cassandra Rhymes and husband Keith of O'Fallen, Mo., Donald Fillmore Morris Jr. and wife Tamara of Troy, Mo., and James Hilleary Morris and Zandra of Maylene, Ala.; five great-grandchildren, Kaylie Michelle Morris, Suzannah Leigh Rhymes, Lauryn Reece Morris, Gordon Keith Rhymes III and Emaline Sutton Morris.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Juliatte Plourde; and a brother, Gerald Emond.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated, Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. from the St. Ann Catholic Church, with the Rev. C. Douglas Kenney officiating.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
