CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Linda Hopkins Crandall, 92, of Penn Hall, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Jan. 28, 1916, in Athens, Wis., she was the daughter of the late August and Otilie Wendland Gluch.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles H. Hopkins, in 1967. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Retired U.S. Navy Captain Charles N. Crandall, in 2005.

She worked for Read Drug and Chemical Co. in Baltimore for eight years.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She served as an antiques dealer while living in Taneytown, Md.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara L. Garling-Myers of Pennsylvania; two sons, Dr. Ronald Hopkins of Missouri and David Hopkins of Florida; one stepdaughter, Kathleen Crandall of Maryland; one stepson, Charles Crandall III of Georgia; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.


A graveside service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Taneytown. The Rev. Neal O. Hively will officiate.

There will be no viewing.
