WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Gladys Mae Henson, 87, of 30 N. Franklin St., died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born Feb. 17, 1921, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late John Grover and Elsie Pearl Beaver Henson.

She was a 1939 graduate of Waynesboro High School.

She was employed as a seamstress by Waynesboro Knitting Mill for 42 years, retiring in 1983.

She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waynesboro.

She is survived by one brother, Kenneth L. Henson of Waynesboro; her nephew, Steven J. Lynch, whom she helped raise; and her caregivers, nephew Randy J. Lynch and his wife, Wanda, of Waynesboro.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lillian Baker, Violet E. Lynch and infant Mildred Henson; and two brothers, Gilson Henson and Paul W. Henson.


Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Friday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
