Pa. woman ejected from SUV

A Waynesboro, Pa., woman was thrown from the 1998 Ford Explorer she was driving on Interstate 81 near the Pennsylvania line Wednesday night when the SUV overturned, according to Maryland State Police.

Lori Ann Helman, who was unrestrained in the Explorer, was taken to Washington County Hospital, where she was being treated in the emergency room at 10:23 p.m., according to police and a hospital spokeswoman.

Helman was driving south on I-81 after she entered the highway from the State Line Road ramp at 6:38 p.m., state police said in a news release.

For reasons not yet known, Helman lost control of the Explorer, which skidded onto the shoulder and overturned, state police said.
