January 15, 2009

Sara E. Wagner has been selected to participate in the Junior Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference next week in Washington, D.C., during the inauguration of Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States.

She will represent Maryland and Hancock Middle Senior High School at the five-day National Young Leaders State Conference event.

She is the daugher of Tom and Sara Jean Wagner.

Sara was selected because of her academic achievements and leadership ability. She is active in band and girls basketball.

She will have the opportunity to interact with White House officials, congressional staff members, political experts and other VIPs, such as former Secretary of State Gen. Colin L. Powell, USA (Ret.) and former Vice President Al Gore.

After watching the inauguration, Sara will experience the grandeur of the inaugural parade, as the president, vice president and their families make their way down Pennsylvania Avenue from the Capitol Building to the White House. To further honor and celebrate Inauguration Day, Sara will attend a gala inaugural ball.
