Council votes to buy transducer

CLEAR SPRING - The Clear Spring Town Council on Monday voted to spend $431.20 to purchase a transducer for the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Vice Mayor Steve Blickenstaff said the transducer will replace an older model that is in poor condition. The device will monitor sewage flow at the plant, he said.

Councilman Theodore Hovermale said the transducer should arrive within about four or five days after it is ordered.

Town to install antenna on fire hydrant

CLEAR SPRING - The Town of Clear Spring will put an antenna on the fire hydrant near 102 Cumberland St. so emergency personnel can find it during a heavy snowfall.

Councilman Theodore Hovermale said the antenna would cost about $20.

Christmas decorating contest winners named

CLEAR SPRING - Clear Spring Town officials on Monday recognized the winners of the 2008 Christmas in Clear Spring contest.


The annual event recognizes residents who decorate their homes during the Christmas holidays.

The winners were:

o Justin Michael, 230 Cumberland St., first place

o Connie Proctor, 18 Mill St., second place

o Pam Briggs, 15 S. Martin St., third place
