Greetings, neighbors!

Sure hope all is well in your homes.

Band news

Four talented musicians from the Boonsboro High School band participated this weekend in the eighth annual Shepherd University Honor Band at the Shepherdstown, W.Va., college.

Three days of intense practices, workshops and master classes culminated in a Sunday afternoon concert of nearly 100 musicians from the Tri-State area.

Dr. Mark McCoy, chair of the Department of Music and Theatre, shared the conductor's podium with Chris Allen, director of bands and orchestras at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Md. Both commented on the high level of musicianship necessary to take part in such a program.

The Boonsboro musicians are Jake Zimmerman, euphonium; Nicole McLaughlin, clarinet; Joshua Strong, alto sax; and David Adams, trombone.

Adams has been selected to participate in Maryland's All State Band.

All four musicians are under the direction of Micah Socks, band director at Boonsboro High School.
