Gifts of Christmas are appreciated

To the editor:

Dear donors to "Make a Better Christmas:"

I would like to sincerely thank all donors for their generosity to the "Make a Better Christmas" coordinated by Bob Maginnis. My son and I, as well as the other fortunate recipients, truly appreciate your thoughtfulness.

My family, and especially a family member, has had an especially trying year, both emotionally and financially. The good news is that my family member's health is stable and is steadily working on reducing the incredibly large copay from the doctor bills, as well as two ambulance rides.

The money that he received went toward helping with that goal and we are appreciative.

His attitude has helped him get through this and he wouldn't have asked for help. So I did. Thank you so much for helping him. It was especially nice this year, as the economy makes generosity more difficult. May you be blessed for thinking of others.

To the editor:

How very kind and thoughtful of you who gave monies so that we who did not have the money to give to make someone less fortunate were able to help someone else to have a blessed Christmas - I thank you.

It is people like you who make this world a better place for everyone.

I was delighted to have my son deliver the money, extra food and some of my home-canned vegetables and jellies - together with the letter to my neighbor who was one of the recipients.

She was surprised and delighted as was her son this Christmas Eve - Both were most grateful.

It made me feel good that together we made both my neighbor and her son's Christmas a little brighter.

It is so much more blessed to give than receive.

Bless you for making this possible and a healthy happy New Year.

To the editor:

I wanted to say a greatly appreciated thank you to the person who made my family's holiday warmer. We were having trouble coming up with money to buy heating oil, and because of your help we were able to have some delivered.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful gift you have given.
