Man held in home invasion robbery

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A Martinsburg man was arrested following a home-invasion robbery early Sunday on South Raleigh Street, according to a Martinsburg Police Department news release.

Henry Allan Payton of East Moler Avenue was charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, grand larceny, conspiracy to commit grand larceny, receive/transfer stolen vehicle and conspiracy to commit receive/transfer stolen vehicle, the release said.

Payton was arrested after Sgt. Matt Zollinger found a stolen vehicle near the intersection of North Church and West Martin streets at about 5:30 a.m., the release said.

The vehicle was taken during the home invasion several hours earlier, the release said.

Payton was spotted near the vehicle and when Zollinger searched Payton's belongings, he found a driver's license belonging to the victim of the home-invasion robbery, the release said.
