Army Reserve Spec. Mahlon J. Lund, son of Rose M. McDonald of Williamsport, has been mobilized and activated for a deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Lund, a chaplain assistant, is assigned to the 15th Psychological Operations Battalion, Cincinnati, Ohio. He has four years of military service.

His wife, Ruth, is the daughter of Paul E. and Joyce Fuller of Linton Hill, Duncannon, Pa.




Navy Seaman Recruit Clarence F. Meyers III, son of Clarence F. Meyers Jr. of Hancock, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Meyers is a 2007 graduate of Hancock High School.




Richard M. Nezat, son of Mary S. Hardesty of Claremore, Okla., graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) leader development and assessment course, also known as "Operation Warrior Forge," at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash.

His wife, Danielle, is the daughter of Ronald and Brenda Strausburg of Smithsburg.

Nezat is a 2003 graduate of Owasso High School, Okla.




Civilian Robert B. McClanahan, son of Tonya Campbell of Weirton, W.Va., and Billy J. McClanahan of Martinsburg, W.Va., recently enlisted in the U.S. Navy under the Delayed Entry Program at Navy Recruiting District, Pittsburgh, Pa.

McClanahan will report for active duty to undergo basic training at the Navy's Recruit Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill.

McClanahan is a 2008 graduate of Weir High School in Weirton.




Army National Guard Pvt. Shen Kim, son of Kyung Kim of Thurmont, Md., and brother of Chen Line of Frederick, Md., graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.




Army Pvt. George T. Mallette, son of Diana M. Smith of Walkersville, Md., graduated from the ammunition specialist advanced individual training course at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Ala.

Mallette is a 2006 graduate of Gov. Thomas Johnson High School, Frederick, Md.




Army National Guard Sgt. Crystal R. Stephenson, daughter of Larry L. Johnson of Gettysburg, Pa., and Deborah K. Massett of Thurmont, Md., has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Stephenson, a military police member with nine years of military service, is regularly assigned to the 39th Military Police Company, Minden, La.

Stephenson is a 1997 graduate of Gettysburg High School.




Ashley N. Kelley, daughter of Michael J. and Kathy Kelley of Frederick, Md., graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) leader development and assessment course, also known as "Operation Warrior Forge," at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash.

Her husband, Edwin, is the son of Edwin S. and Gayle R. Draughon of Vernon, Texas.

Kelley is a 2005 graduate of Robert G. Cole High School, San Antonio, Texas.
