Preps Area Roundup -- Walsh's double-double lifts Warriors over Catoctin

BOONSBORO -- Tyler Walsh's double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds on Friday helped Boonsboro (2-10, 2-3) to a 65-52 MVAL Antietam victory over Catoctin (2-7, 1-4).

Shane Zbir also added 14 points in the victory.

BRUNSWICK, Md. -- Marcus Hall led Brusnwick (7-1, 3-0) with 24 points along with eight rebounds, four steals and two assists to in an MVAL Antietam win over Clear Spring.

Brunswick remained undefeated in conference play by opening the game with an 18-4 lead and hit 10 free throws late in the game to hold on.

Kyle Crist had a team-high 23 points, including four 3s, in the losing effort for Clear Spring (7-2, 2-2).

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Cameron Cato scored a game-high 21 points to lead Martinsburg to a 30-point victory over Washington.

Matinsburg used a strong second quarter to take a 33-20 halftime lead, before outscoring Washington 25-9 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. Kevin Walker had a solid night on the boards for Martinsburg, pulling down eight rebounds in the win.

Heritage Academy (9-1, 5-0) edged Calvary Christian (2-5, 1-3) by two points in Mason Dixon Christian play, behind 15 points from Andrew Hendershot.

Calvary held a lead going into the fourth quarter before being outscored by 10 points in the final period of play. In addition to scoring nine points, Aaron Clark also added seven steals in the win for Heritage.

Taylor Corman scored 18 points to lead Shippensburg (6-5, 3-2), which led after the first quarter, 17-6.
