Betty Lou Grimm Willis, 77, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Washington County Hospital.

Born May 26, 1931, in Grottoes, Va., she was the daughter of the late George Oliver Grimm and Emma Virginia Shifflett Grimm Picket Shank.

She retired from Londontown Co. in Boonsboro after 28 years of service.

She attended Virginia Avenue Church of God in Hagerstown.

She was past vice president of Amalgamated Workers Union Local 918 of Boonsboro.

She is survived by her former husband, Paul Joseph Willis of Hagerstown; two daughters, G. Marita Wilson of Hagers-town and Karen E. Niksch of Henryetta, Okla.; one son, Jeffrey H. Willis of Boonsboro; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Robin L. Hickey; one son, Thayne S. Willis; two sisters, Gladys M. Blackwell and Virginia M. Stone; and one brother, George O. Grimm Jr.


Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Virginia Avenue Church of God, Hagerstown. The Rev. Shawn M. Bushman will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.
