Winter Street group seeks new members

The Winter Street School Alumni group meets at Always Ron's the second Tuesday of the month. If you are able to attend, you are asked to bring any photos you might have from your time at the school.

The group is looking for alumni to join the group. Your attendance at the school could have been for a school year or the entire length of your elementary education.

On Nov. 11, some of the members visited the American Music Theatre in Lancaster, Pa.

The group is now looking forward to visiting the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pa., the site where one of the planes crashed on 9/11. The trip is set for May 12. Additional details will be available at a later date.

Relay for Life kickoff set for Jan. 25

The Washington County Chapter of the American Cancer Society will hold its kickoff for this year's Relay for Life of Washington County on Sunday, Jan. 25, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Maugansville Ruritan building on Maugans Avenue.


Information regarding this year's relay will be discussed.

This free event is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.


The parents and guardians of students at South Hagerstown High School are invited to join the PTA for its monthly meeting today at 6 p.m.

Prom fashion show

On Saturday, Jan. 31, the South Hagerstown High School PTA and Potomac Bridals will host a prom fashion show at the school. The show begins at 3 p.m. and doors open at 2:30 p.m. Tickets cost $3 for adults and $2 for students.

Door prizes and discounts on gowns and tuxedos will be available.
