Hagerstown man charged in threat

A Hagerstown man faces a threat charge after he allegedly threatened to shoot a commissioner at Washington County District Court on Tuesday, according to court records.

Roger E. Heare Sr., 65, of 14225 Oak Springs Road, has been charged with threat/st official/to injure, Washington County District Court records show.

Heare was being held on $75,000 bond Wednesday night at the Washington County Detention Center.

Susan Shain, the on-duty commissioner at Washington County District Court at 36 W. Antietam St., said Heare came to district court seeking to file charges against someone but the application was denied, according to court records.

Shain said Heare then stated "you've left me no recourse than to shoot you with a 9 mm," according to court records.

Heare was patted down for a weapon but none was found, court records show.
