CLEAR SPRING - Beverly Ann Troupe Altman, 67, of Nesbitt Avenue, went to be with her Lord on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, from John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Born June 15, 1941 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Russell Troupe and Inez Pearl Hull Troupe.

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Clear Spring.

She was a 1959 graduate of Clear Spring High School.

She retired from banking after many years of service in the Clear Spring area. After retirement, she was employed part time by Weis Market on Eastern Boulevard, and most recently employed by the Williamsport and Clear Spring Pharmacies.


She was a life member of the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Co., where she served as the treasurer for many years and also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.

Beverly is survived by one son; Bryan T. Altman of Clear Spring, two special grandsons; Jacob Thomas "J.T." Altman and Dylan Lee Altman; and a special aunt, Jo Ann Elliott of Waynesboro, Pa.

Per her request, there will be no viewing or visitation. However, a celebration of her life will be Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Clear Spring. The Rev. Elaine Swinehart will officiate.

A fellowship for all family and friends will immediately follow the service at the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Co. activities building.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Children's Cancer Research, c/o St. Jude's Children's Research, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9928 or Clear Spring District Historical Society, P.O. Box 211, Clear Spring, MD 21722.
