WILLIAMSPORT - Ann Isabelle Shurnitski, 81, of Williamsport, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at Golden Living Center in Hagerstown.

Born Jan. 9, 1927, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James Reid and Annie Benson Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Anthony Shurnitski, in 2005.

She was a graduate of Plymouth (Pa.) High School.

She was employed as a case worker by the State of Maryland Department of Social Services in Hagerstown, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church in Williamsport.

She was a member of the Ladies Sodality of St. Augustine's.

She is survived by one daughter, Brenda M. Meikle of Centreville, Va.; one son, Martin S. Shurnitski of Hagerstown; one sister, Margaret Harry of Yonkers, N.Y.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by one daughter, Frances A. Shurnitski; two sisters, Pauline Wilson and Mary Wilson; and three brothers, William Wilson, John Wilson and James Wilson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Williamsport. The Rev. Stephen E. Hook will be celebrant. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, Williamsport, where a prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. by the Rev. Stephen E. Hook. The funeral home will open Thursday at 9 a.m.
