Julia Louise Schnebly, 98, of Clear Spring, and a resident of Williamsport Retirement Village, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at the home.

Born Oct. 12, 1910, in Charlton, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ira Walter Rowe and Julia Prudence Shank Rowe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Smith Schnebly, in 1984.

She was a homemaker. In her early years, she was employed by Wilson's Store in Conococheague.

She was a member of Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship, Hagerstown; and a former member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Clear Spring.

She was a member of Dry Run Homemakers.

She is survived by one stepdaughter, Dorothy M. Binkley of Hagerstown; two stepsons, Seth K. Schnebly and J. Resley Schnebly, both of Clear Spring; four sisters, M. Lethean Rowe and Stella A. Myers, both of Thomaston, Ga., I. Winifred Guch of Fairfax, Va., and Helen Rose Rawls of Cartersville, Ga.; 13 stepgrandchildren; 23 stepgreat-grandchildren; 12 stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leila Belle Shank and Mary A. Couchman; and one brother, D. Lloyd Rowe.

Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship. The Rev. Len Smith will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Clear Spring.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
