William Lewis "Pops" Durboraw Sr., 68, of 136 Hump Road, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at his home.

Born Thursday, Feb. 29, 1940, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Marshall A. Durboraw and the late Dorothy Naomi Giffin Durboraw.

He was employed with Craig Paving, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Durboraw Racing Team for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Judith A. Durboraw; five daughters, Tina C. Dawson of Hagerstown, Sharon K. Gross of Clear Spring, Md., Tammy L. Ebersole of Hagerstown, Robin L. Bumbaugh of Walkersville, Md., and Neomi C. Durboraw of Hagerstown; four sons, William L. Durboraw Jr. of Hagerstown, Marvin E. Durboraw of Hagerstown, Blake W. Durboraw of Boonsboro, Md., and Dylan M. Durboraw of Hagerstown; four sisters, Lorraine Dorsey of Hagerstown, Margaret A. Yost of Clear Spring, Maydean Durboraw of Hagerstown and Rayetta Hoffman, Pennsylvania; three brothers, Gary N. Durboraw of Hagerstown, Denny Durboraw of Hagerstown and Nathan W. Durboraw of Hagerstown; 23 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at 11 a.m. from Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, with Pastor Gregory Earl Tyler officiating.

Family will receive friends at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7.
