SPRING RUN, Pa. - Bonnie Asenath Sipes, 85, a resident of Aprontree Personal Care Home, Spring Run, and formerly of Harrisonville, Pa., died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at the home.

Born June 27, 1923, in Adel, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Edith (Sayre) Cutchall. She was the wife of Howard L. Sipes, whom she married Aug. 1, 1942.

She was a member of Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore, Pa.

She was a past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star Hancock chapter 103 and a past vice chairman of Fulton County Democratic Committee.


She worked as a secretary at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

She is survived by her husband, Howard L. Sipes, whom she married Aug. 1, 1942; two daughters, Penelope A. Shives and Katherine A. Carmack, both of Harrisonville; two sisters, Evelyn Gobin of Harrisonville and Pauline Kopec of Chapel Hill, N.C.; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by one son, Timothy G. Sipes; and one brother, Wayne Cutchall.

Religious service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sideling Hill Christian Church, Needmore. The Rev. William Swope will officiate. Burial will be at Sideling Hill Christian Church.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Harrisonville, and one hour before the service at the church.
