Pa. store window smashed, items stolen



HARRISONVILLE, Pa. -- On Tuesday around 5 a.m., someone smashed the front window of D&D Corner Market at 5557 Pleasant Ridge Road, Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg said Wednesday morning.

When police arrived, the thieves had fled after stealing some items from the store.

Incidents reported to Hagerstown police



The Hagerstown Police Department reported the following calls recently:

Jan. 3

o Theft of food items at 4:12 p.m., Martin's at 1580 Wesel Boulevard.

Jan. 5

o Damage to car window at 12:28 a.m., 901 Salem Ave.

o Theft of purse at 10:30 a.m., 761 E. Wilson Boulevard

o Theft of makeup at 11:11 a.m., Wal-Mart, 17850 Garland Groh Boulevard

o Identity theft at 5:46 p.m., 384 Cannon Ave.

o Found property, Huffy Seastar bicycle, at 6:39 p.m., 20 W. Franklin St.

o Theft of MP3 player at 7 p.m., 244 S. Locust St.

Crash results in minor injuries



LEITERSBURG -- A three-vehicle accident Tuesday morning on Leitersburg Pike near the Liberty service station resulted in one person being transported to Washington County Hospital with apparent minor injuries, emergency dispatchers said.

Fire and rescue equipment was sent to the scene at 8:05 a.m. Maryland State Police are handling the investigation.

No word was available Tuesday morning on whether the accident was weather-related.

Handguns stolen from Pa. store



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Twenty-one handguns were stolen from Keystone Country Store in Fort Loudon early Tuesday morning after two people broke into the store through a front door, said a Pennsylvania State Police news release.

The burglary at the store at 186 Path Valley Road occurred about 6 a.m. and the suspects fled through the front door, the release said.

The guns were of varying brands and calibers, police said.

Criminal mischief investigated in Pa.



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police have been investigating three criminal mischief cases since Dec. 26, according to news releases.

o On Dec. 26 or Dec. 27, someone painted a smiley face on the back of a home at 1562 Palm Spring Drive in Hamilton Township, police said.

o On Jan. 1 or Jan. 2, someone shot a window with a pellet gun at 10680 A Cumberland Highway in Letterkenny Township, police said.

o On Jan. 4, someone broke fence posts and cut Christmas light cords at 2102 Stillhouse Hollow Road in Greene Township, police said.
