Some schools closed, others closing early due to winter storm

Schools across the Tri-State area are closed today or plan to close early as a winter storm moves into the Tri-State area.

Closed all day

Berkeley County, W.Va., public schools

Jefferson County, W.Va., public schools

Morgan County, W.Va., public schools

Gateway Christian Academy

Faith Christian Academy

Bolivar Christian Academy

Country Day School

Calvary Christian Academy

Blue Ridge Community and Technical College


Frostburg State University (main campus)

Closing early

Washington County public schools, 2 1/2 hours early. Afternoon events are canceled or postponed.

Frederick County, Md., public schools, two hours early. Flexible Evening High, Adult Education and Heather Ridge Twilight programs are canceled. All after-school & evening activities are canceled or postponed.

Broadfording Christian Academy, 2 p.m.

Heritage Academy, 12:30 p.m.

St. Maria Goretti High School, 12:20 p.m.

Highland View Academy, no afternoon classes

Southern Fulton, Pa., public schools, noon

Central Fulton, Pa., public schools, two hours early

Forbes Road, Pa., public schools, two hours early

In addition, after-school activities at Chambersburg Area, Pa., public schools are canceled or postponed.

o A winter storm warning is in effect throughout the area through 9 a.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.
