Werewolf mask worn in robbery try

January 06, 2009

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- Waynesboro police were searching for a werewolf -- or more accurately a man in possession of a werewolf mask -- after a bizarre robbery attempt Monday night.

Police said a man wearing a werewolf mask approached a vehicle outside Save-A-Lot and tried to enter through the passenger's side door at 10:15 p.m.

Once he found the door was locked, he ran around the front of the vehicle, reached through the driver's window and grabbed the victim's shirt, according to a police news release.

"Give me your money," the suspect allegedly said.

The victim, who didn't hand over any money, drove home and gave police a description of the suspect.

The suspect was described as a white man approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall. In addition to the mask, he was wearing a dark blue hooded sweat shirt with some type of emblem on the front.
