Community Foundation of Washington County MD Inc.

The Community Foundation of Washington County MD Inc. recently held its annual meeting at which the following officers were elected to serve in 2009.

o David Beachley -- chairman

o Michael Day and Spence Perry -- vice chairmen

o Art Crumbacker -- treasurer

o Richard Phoebus -- secretary

Also, Ross Rhoads was elected to a new three-year term on the board of trustees and will continue to serve on the Executive Committee as past chairman.

In addition, two new trustees were elected to serve on the board.

o The Rev. D. Stuart Dunnan, headmaster of Saint James School, will replace Mary Dahbura.

o Harry Reynolds, retired president of Callas Contractors, will replace Howard Kaylor.

The Community Foundation of Washington County has more than $14.5 million in assets and has distributed more than $5 million in grants to area nonprofits since 1997.


Smith Elliott Kearns & Co. LLC

Judy Hebb of the Hagerstown office of Smith Elliott Kearns & Co. LLC recently completed the requirements to be licensed as a certified public accountant through the Maryland State Board of Accountancy.

Hebb joined the staff of the Hagerstown office in 2006, bringing three years of accounting experience with her. She specializes in tax preparation and small business accounting services.

Hebb earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Shepherd University.

Edward Jones

Greg Garner, an Edward Jones financial adviser in Hagerstown, recently was appointed to the firm's Grassroots Legislative Task Force.

As a task force member, Garner will travel to Washington, D.C., to discuss with lawmakers a number of investment-related issues on the minds of individual investors.

Garner has served the Hagerstown area for Edward Jones since 1995.

Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -- James S. Stoneham has joined the Greencastle office of Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA as a sales professional.

Stoneham is a member of Metropolitan Regional Information System (MRIS) Multi-List, Pen Mar Regional Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.

Stoneham previously was the manager/owner of Stoneham's Inc. in Waynesboro, Pa.

The Manitowoc Co.

MANITOWOC, Wis. -- Terry D. Growcock has retired as chairman of the board of The Manitowoc Co.

Growcock served as chairman of the board since 2007. He previously served as chairman and chief executive officer from 2002 to 2007 and president and chief executive officer from 1998 to 2002.

Growcock joined the company in 1994 as executive vice president of Manitowoc Ice. He was appointed president of Manitowoc Foodservice Group in 1995 and served in that capacity until his promotion to president and CEO of the corporation.

Before joining Manitowoc, Growcock served in numerous management and executive positions with Siebe plc and United Technologies.

Growcock attended Indiana University and earned a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Manitowoc. Co. is the parent company of Grove Worldwide in Shady Grove, Pa.

Frederick Skin Care

FREDERICK, Md. -- Dr. Matthew Bruntel is now accepting patients at Frederick Skin Care, a new medicine practice specializing in dermatology that opened Nov. 1 at the Centerpark Professional Center.

Bruntel's practice accepts all local insurances and usually can see new patients within a few days to deal with problems of the skin, hair and nails.
