GREENCASTLE, Pa. -- A man whose car went through a stop sign on Stone Bridge Road and hit another car on Sunday was charged with driving under the influence, police said.
The driver -- Keith Summers, 44, of Mercersburg, Pa. -- was charged with driving under the influence, having an open container, careless driving and failure to stop at a stop sign.
A passenger -- Charles Brown, 38, of Mercersburg -- had to be freed from the car, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.
Brown was listed in fair condition at Chambersburg Hospital on Monday morning, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Summers was treated at the hospital and released.
Police said Summers, driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla, was going south on Stone Bridge Road, north of Greencastle.
Shortly before 3:30 p.m., Summers' car went through a stop at the intersection of Guitner Road and hit a 1998 Saturn sedan driven by Richard Lee Bingaman of Mercersburg, police said.
