Man charged in robbery attempt

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- The Martinsburg Police Department said Saturday a man has been arrested in connection with an attempted armed robbery last month.

Jeffrey Keith Hancock Jr., 20, of 33 Sopwith Way in Martinsburg, has been charged with attempted armed robbery and assault during the commission of a felony, according to a police department press release.

Hancock is accused of trying to rob Domino's Pizza at 1002 Winchester Ave. on Dec. 17, police said.

Someone held a knife to the neck of an employee at the shop and demanded money, police said.

Hancock was arraigned and his bail was set at $40,000, according to a spokesman at Eastern Regional Jail, where Hancock was being held Saturday night.
