KEYMAR, Md. - Jacob Daniel Lambert, 44, of Keymar, died suddenly on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at home.

Born March 23, 1964, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Jean (Stonesifer) Lambert of Keymar and the late John David Samuel Lambert, who died Jan. 31, 2001.

Jacob's passion in life was his music, and he was gifted as a self-taught musician to play multiple instruments and sing. He was a former member of the following local bands - K & P & the J's, Straight Shooter, James Taylor Band and finally the Great Train Robbery Band. He was the opening act for Molly Hatchet, .38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Steppenwolf and Foghat, amongst many others. He loved to entertain others and would help anyone in need. He had a heart of gold.

He was a member of Keysville Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother are one son, Jacob Dylan Lambert of Frederick, Md.; one brother, Jonathan David Lambert of Keymar; one sister, Jana M. Lambert and husband, Jim Cook, of Frederick; and one nephew, Courtenay James Cook of Frederick. He was loved by his girlfriend, Michele Micklus, and her son, Ryan.

A funeral service will be Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, Md., with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Keysville Union Cemetery, Keymar.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to help with final expenses to the funeral home.
