Free day of fitness



Gold's Gym of Hagerstown is inviting the public to start their 2009 fitness resolutions off on the right foot with a free workout and fitness advice. The gym will be open to the public through Sunday,Jan. 4. Health and fitness experts will offer tips on how to set realistic fitness resolutions that stick and maintain a fitness program throughout the year.

All adults are welcome to visit their nearest participating Gold's Gym in Hagerstown for one free day of fitness and a fitness assessment. Limit one visit per customer.

Republican women to hold first meeting



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The new Franklin County Council of Republican Women will hold its inaugural meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Franklin County Republican headquarters, 293 Southgate Mall.

Barbara Cross, third vice president of the Pennsylvania Federation of Republican Women, will be the guest speaker. She also will install the newly elected officers who are Lyn Shertzer, president; Debbie Taylor, vice president; Dee Chapman, secretary; and Barbara Twigg, treasurer.
