SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- A man whose minivan struck an embankment and traveled across a front yard on Thursday morning has been charged with driving under the influence, according to a Pennsylvania State Police press release.

Matthew H. Hutton, 21, of Fayetteville, Pa., was eastbound in a Dodge Caravan on Mainsville Road, police said.

About 3:40 a.m., while trying to follow a left turn in the road, Hutton went off the right side of the road at Howard Avenue, police said.

The Caravan struck an embankment, then struck a gazebo in the front yard of 100 Mainsville Road before going through the yard and striking a cement wall, police said.

Hutton, who was charged with DUI, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, police said.
