CLARKSBURG, Md. -- Kirksten Mitchell had 18 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals as North Hagerstown beat Walt Whitman 56-41 at the Clarksburg Holiday Tournament on Monday.

Kishia Jackson added 14 points and Amon Scott came off the bench and had six points, four rebounds and four assists for the Hubs (5-1).

North will contend for its third straight title at the tournament today when it faces Clarksburg in the championship at 2 p.m.

Parkersburg South 82, Martinsburg 69

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Parkersburg South, the No. 1-ranked team in West Virginia Class AAA, pulled away in the third quarter to defeat Martinsburg, the No. 5 team in the state, in the first round of the Morgantown Invitational Tournament.

Parkersburg South (6-0) trailed 37-36 at halftime, but outscored Martinsburg (2-1) 29-12 in the third quarter to take control.

Danielle Floyd hit three of her team's seven 3-pointers and finished with 20 points for Parkersburg South.

Jaqueline Brewer scored a game-high 22 points for the Bulldogs, while Yolonda Pinckett had 20 points and Iesha Robinson added 17. Martinsburg standout point guard Da'Shel Wright did not play due to injury.

Martinsburg will play either Morgantown or Winfield in the consolation game today at 3 p.m.

HANCOCK -- Amber Booher and Deidra Burch each had 11 points and five steals to help Berkeley Springs beat Clear Spring in a rout at the Hancock Holiday Tournament.

Harlie Stotler had 10 points and six rebounds and Jess Haynes added 10 points for the Indians (5-2).

Andrea Baum and Lindsay Trumpower each scored 11 points to lead the Blazers (0-5), while Hannah House had seven rebounds and two blocks and Baum added six rebounds.

FROSTBURG, Md. -- Alex Silva had 18 points, eight steals and three assists for South Hagerstown in a loss to Mountain Ridge in the Christmas Tournament at Mountain Ridge.

Luna Jefferson added nine points and eight rebounds for the Rebels (0-6), who trailed by only six entering the fourth quarter.

South plays Fort Hill in the consolation game today at 5:30 p.m.
