Raymond Leroy Williams, 77, of 14014 Marsh Pike, Hagerstown, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Washington County Hospital.
Born July 30, 1931, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of the late James Archer Williams Sr. and the late Rosa Lee Enikes.
He was employed with Western Maryland Hospital, retiring after 31 years of service.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Zion Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
He is survived by three daughters, Cheryl A. Williams, Mary F. Harris and Sharon Scott, all of Hagerstown; four sons, Raymond Leroy Williams Jr. of Washington, D.C., Albert Monroe, Ronald Monroe and Jeffrey Monroe, all of Hagerstown; two sisters, Mary G. Johnson of Hagerstown, and Lucille Allen of Kearnysville, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Frances J. Williams Barnes, Dorothy E. Williams, Thelma L. Ferguson, Gladys V. Williams, and Odessa C. Jackson and brothers, James A. Williams Jr., John S. Williams, and Calvin P. Williams.
