CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Glen F. Stevens, 77, of 1024 Warm Spring Road, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born April 8, 1931, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Grover and Nellie Mae Miller Stevens.

He was employed by Nitterhouse Concrete in Chambersburg for 35 years, retiring in 1995.

He served in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War.

He was a member of The Salvation Army in Chambersburg.

He is survived by his wife, Betty McClure Stevens, whom he married Aug. 27, 1955; six children, Debra Mulhollen, Bruce D. Stevens, Ruby Fittry, Randy Stevens and Lisa Monroig, all of Chambersburg, and James Stevens of Conneaut, Ohio; one brother, Charles Stevens of Chambersburg; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Glen F. Stevens Jr.; one sister, Irene Perry; and one brother, Grover Stevens Jr.


Services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg. The Rev. Sampson Myers will officiate.

Private burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers.
