NEEDMORE, Pa. -- Frank D. Woodal, 82, of 8820 Thompson Road, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at his home.

Born Dec. 27, 1925, in McConnellsburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank D. Woodal Sr. and Edith Mae Peck Woodal.

He was the owner and operator of Woodal Trucking in Needmore. He also was a newspaper carrier for The Herald-Mail Co.

He served in the U.S. Air Force, during World War II.

He was a Protestant.

He was a member of American Legion Post 26 of Hancock.

He is survived by his wife, Rhoda Belle Spade Woodal, whom he married July 28, 1956; one daughter, Tammy E. Reitober of Needmore; one son, Tommy A. Woodal of Needmore; one sister, Charlotte Stahle of Needmore; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nieces; and nephews.


He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold R. Woodal.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home in McConnellsburg. The Rev. Donald Preston will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg. Military services will be conducted by the Fulton Honor Guard.

Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
