Preps Area Roundup -- 3 'Cats in title hunt at Damascus

DAMASCUS, Md. -- Three Williamsport wrestlers remain in the hunt for individual titles at the Damascus Holiday Tournament.

Kemper Baker (119 pounds), Joey Sutch (135) and Robbie Mies (215) are set to compete in the championship semifinals for the Wildcats when the tournament concludes today.

Baker won his quarterfinal bout by pin, while Sutch won his by decision Friday after both received first-round byes. Mies went 2-0 with two pins.

Also for Williamsport, Killian Baker (103), Zach Shoemaker (125), Reggie Russ (160) and Joey Fazenbaker (171) each went 2-1 to advance to today's consolation semifinals.

Arnold, Gearhart, Dickerson earn Pa. all-state honors

Chambersburg senior Lexi Arnold, Greencastle-Antrim junior Kelsey Gearhart and McConnellsburg junior were selected to the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches' Association all-state teams.

Arnold, the MVP of the Mid-Penn Commonwealth, was a Class AAA selection. She averaged 3.36 kills, 3.43 digs and 0.89 aces for the Trojans.

Gearhart, a co-MVP of the Mid-Penn Capital along with teammate Rochelle Christman, was a Class AA selection. She averaged 2.46 kills and 1.80 digs for the Blue Devils.

Dickerson, who was on the All-Sidleling Hill League first team, was a Class A selection. She averaged 4.02 kills, 0.72 blocks, 1.67 digs and 0.80 aces for the Spartans.
