CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Franklin A. "Punk" Strock, 80, of Chambersburg, formerly of East Washington Street, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at his home.

Born July 12, 1928, in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Elmer Gushert and Ruth Gayle Haulman Strock.

He worked in the Chambersburg area as a carpenter.

He was a member of United Brethren Church, where he was an usher. He was a former Boy Scout leader in the church's Troop 124.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of Order of the Arrow in the Harrisburg district, Boy Scouts of America and a Vigil member.

He is survived by two sisters, Hattie Shadle of Cape Coral, Fla., and Lou Brady of Biglerville, Pa.; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Raymond Strock; and two sisters, Susan Robison and Hilda Orr.

Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg. The Rev. John Dromazos will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, 225 S. Second St., Chambersburg, PA 17201 or to any Boy Scout Troop.
