WILLIAMSPORT - Dorothy Helen Stumbaugh Lushbaugh, 93, formerly of 24 Cannon Ave. in Hagerstown, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at Williamsport Retirement Village.

She was born on March 16, 1915 in Hagerstown, Maryland to the late Chalmers Edwin and Rosaline Shantz Gruber.

Dot was a long time resident of Williamsport and attended Williamsport United Methodist Church in her earlier years. She worked at the Federal Silk Mill in Williamsport and operated Dots Lunch several years prior to her retirement.

She was preceeded in death by her first husband, Charles "Stumy" Stumbaugh, in 1964 and her second husband, Howard "Buzz" Lushbaugh, in 1990.

Dot is survived by four daughters; Charleen Butts of Hagerstown, Lovaleen Brining and husband Kenneth of Hagerstown, Judith Palmer of Williamsport, and Nellie Mae Jordan and husband Stephen of Halfway; a son, Charles "Jerry" Stumbaugh and wife Sandra of Williamsport; two stepsons, Howard Lushbaugh and wife Margaret of Hagerstown and Harrison, "Tiny" Lushbaugh and wife Zelma of Hagerstown; a stepdaughter, Chris Grimes and husband Gary of Williamsport; a sister, Lillian Null of Waynesboro, Pa.; a stepbrother, James Gruber of Hagerstown; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Dot was preceeded in death by a brother, Chalmers "Mike" Gruber; a granddaughter, Rebecca "Becky" Faith; and two sons-in-law, Terry Butts and Pete Palmer.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport with Chaplain Cristina Puig-Lugo officiating.

There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.

Arrangements are by Osborne Funeral Home in Williamsport.
