Tintsey L. Gray Barnhart, 83, a resident of NMS Healthcare, Hagerstown, and formerly of 13634 Worleytown Road, Greencastle, Pa., died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at the nursing home.

Born Dec. 3, 1925, in Deport, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Sidney M. and Lillian Evans Gray.

Her husband, Warren E. Barnhart Sr., died June 25, 1981. They were married Aug. 4, 1945.

She was a seamstress at Tracy Fashions of Chambersburg, Pa., for a number of years.

She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Frank Carbaugh American Legion Post 373, and Ladies Auxiliary of Harry D. Ziegler V.F.W. Post 6319, both of Greencastle.

She was a Protestant by faith.

She is survived by two sons, Warren E. Barnhart Jr. of Montgomery, Texas, and Jerry D. Barnhart of Greencastle; two sisters, her twin, Tint L. Nielson of San Jose, Calif., and Margaret E. Lewis of Modesto, Calif.; one brother, Jack E. Gray of Mount Pleasant, Texas; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lillian E. Gearhart; two sisters, Loris Woodward and Eddie L. Barron; and one brother, J.C. Gray.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Macedonia United Brethren Church, Greencastle. The Rev. Gayle L. Ruble will officiate. Burial will follow Macedonia Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle.
